I am of the belief that without the ability to listen to feedback, there would be no meaningful principles at all. It is an act of will to respond to a problem; but it is of humility, compassion, and open mindedness that we are able to calibrate ourselves, note consequences, and to more fully achieve a genuine solution. Assumptions and egos assert nothing but impositions. I chose this principle because I feel it is the seed and soil of all other principles; for they only manifest through attentive care.
In nature you see it in something as subtle as a seedling. The nutrients of the sun speak and the twines of growth listen – stretching out from under shade. Water does not flow uphill by force of ego, it adapts to the reality of gravity.
In tech, we cannot cast shadows on the seedlings of humanity nor our environment without dire outcomes. It is vital that we design our tech to lift all into the nutrients of health and possibilities, rather than have it choke us like a weed that feeds off our nectar.
Listen. Empower. Prosper.
For every action there is a consequence, enabling an opportunity of echolocating a greater solution.
