The negative memes that I chose represent people who struggle to complete their schoolwork. Both of them talk about how doing homework is not an ideal way to spend free time, and therefore the homework will not be completed. These memes paint the picture that students would rather do anything else than complete their homework, thus harming their grades and overall education. On top of this, the memes insinuate that the person not doing their homework does not seem to care about their grade being lowered due to the lack of homework completion as one of them shows a woman having fun in a field and seemingly not caring about anything else. These memes depict a huge lack of effort and motivation from the students, when in reality something else may be going on in their life.

The positive meme that I made depicts a different viewpoint on why students may not do homework. In my meme I gave a reason for not doing the homework, that reason being taking a day to focus on your mental health. Personally I view this as a completely acceptable reason to hold off on doing your homework as life is stressful and sometimes you just need a day to unwind and get in the right headspace. My meme highlights the importance of having a good balance between work and life. I feel like this meme may not have the same virality as the negative memes due to the fact that the other memes are not as specific in their reasons for not doing homework. My meme only applies to those who do value mental health days, whereas the other memes apply to people who do not like to do homework in general (likely a far greater number).

The world that we live in has so many different forms of news that it seems impossible to differentiate the good from the bad, and the real from the fake. Sure websites exist that post good news only and stray away from the bad stuff, however with a large percentage of the world’s population having access to the internet every day it is inevitable that bad and fake news will spread. One thing that comes to mind when trying to combat this problem is a fact check system on every social media platform. This fact check system will analyze the post and check it for factual evidence. If the system comes back and says that the post is factual then the post will upload just like normal. If the system says it is not factual the post will still go through but there will be a small logo in the top right corner that states this post is not factual. This can help people actually realize what is real and what is fake and make decisions about real world issues accordingly.
