The first meme I chose is a older white man expressing his negative opinions about women. The message of this meme is basically saying that women are silly for thinking we can have the same rights as men. This angers me for obvious reasons of toxic masculinity attempting to be dominant over women. The man is laughing at the fact that women attempt to have equal rights.
My second meme is one I created. It is showing Obama, obviously, saying that men should support women’s rights. Obama is shown frowning to express that it is not okay for men to have this ideology of domination over women. Looking up women’s rights memes was all negative memes saying that our rights is some kind of fairy tale. This upsets me for many reasons because the positive memes for women are so minimal or just not “trending”. I think this is because negative memes trend and move faster throughout the internet because people have strong opinions about them. With positive memes, they are not trending as fast or as much because people do not get heated emotions.
I think we all should spread positive social media content so that the negative might have less of an impact. If everyone shares all the positive posts they saw, that they agree with, they would travel faster and reach a wider spread of people.
