Above is my negative meme. This meme gives off a sense of dread for the future which can be highly damaging, especially for the younger community. The idea of the future since 2019 has been shown in nothing but sadness and dread. And memes like these, while trying to make a bad situation funny, still cause damage to our idea of the future. This puts a type of perspective in the future for generations to not look forward and only remember the past. In a way that means “nothing will be as good as… etc”. This type of thinking leads to fear of the future which is not productive or positive.

Above is my positive take on the negative meme. The bottom reads ” Knowing that we are finally done the bad 2020s, Its been a while but we finally did it”. My spin on the meme above while still a bit negative about the last couple of years shows a positive outlook on the future. That even though 2020 – Now was hard we finally got through it together and can now look forward to a hopeful and brighter future. Because I know, myself included, that we are all ready to move on to the next chapter in the world and that we need some positivity in our lives and memes.
