Task 2-AbbiDowner

In the article, “Negative effects of technology: What to Know”, there was a section on eyestrain and the effects of blue light on the eyes specifically before they go to bed(and how that can also effect their sleep). I personally have blue light glasses, which I sometimes use due to being a New Media major and spending most of my time online. I think that even if I wasn’t a New Media major, I would still spend a lot of time online due to the nature of the world. If I don’t wear my glasses, I often feel the effects of blue light. I get headaches and my eyes become sore. I feel tired and drained.

Although blue light glasses are a good resolution to these ill effects, I wonder if there would be a better solution. When I am on my phone before bed, I tend to lay on my side, which would be uncomfortable to do whilst wearing glasses. My idea, (which may already exist, although I have never met someone who has ever owned this), is a sort of screen that would go over your phone or laptop that would work just like blue light glasses do. It would in theory be an easy thing to slide onto your screen and would have some sort of tint that would work to block blue light. Instead of grabbing your glasses, you can instead grab the screen and pop it right on. In theory this would aid in falling asleep headache free and hopefully allow a person to get better rest.
