Task 2- Hana Boucher

Instant access to information makes us less self-sufficient. We get instant answers when we google our questions, which prevents us from using our brains, and it eliminates the pleasure burst that we would get solving it ourselves. We can not lose our critical thinking skills because we will be out of luck the day we encounter a problem that Google does not have the answer to. Additionally, 15-16 year-olds with high digital media use have an increased chance of developing symptoms of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. Children who overuse technology also may be more likely to experience low creativity.

My idea to curb these problems is to implement a new search engine that makes you think more. Instead of immediately giving you a straightforward answer, it might provide you with some stimulus to jog your memory. If you still don’t know, it would give you a clue, such as an event that happened around the same time George was born. Once you have your answer, it will follow up with some stimulus to spark some deeper thought regarding your original question.
