Task 2- Josie Ford

The article that I decided to use was the negative effects of technology. I think that there are a lot of negative effects but there were two that really stood out to me. One of them that stood out to me was depression and anxiety. I think that technology has really affected people in that way at a young age. I think teens and even adults rely a lot on technology to hide how they feel. They use that as a distraction for their problems. The problem with that is technology is only a temporary relief. I think that there are a few solutions for this. I think that talking to people face-to-face could help people solve their problems. I also think that reducing screen time would help and getting out there doing things other than technology.

Although depression and anxiety is a big problem, there is one that stood out to me the most because I relate to it personally. The one that stood out to me was eye strain. I personally had an issue with this. There was a time in my life where I was getting really bad migraines. I think technology had a lot to do with this. I would look at my phone or computer for a long period of time and end up with migraines. There are a couple of things that I did that helped with this a lot. I realized that I was spending so much of my time looking at a screen so I decided to cut that down a lot. That helped a whole bunch for me. Another solution that has really helped me is blue light glasses. These glasses were designed for people that struggle with looking at a screen. It has helped me so much.

If I were to make my own solution I would make an app. The app would give you scheduled time for how long you can be on your screen. You would be allowed to set the time yourself for how long you think you can be on the screen. Once the time is up it would give you a look away from the screen for 30 seconds and then the app would give you some eye exercises to do that may help.
