App name ideas: Safe Space, Check in, Daily Diary

Innovative Design

Since we are always with our phones, I think it would be helpful for there to be an easy therapeutic app that allows its user to check in daily. The app will send out a notification, and the user can pick the time when it shows up on their screen. It will ask a series of questions that allows the user to rate their mental, physical, social, and emotional health. Then the app will have small prompts that explain the multiple choice, that may require one worded to a sentence long answer. If the app sees any patterns that are disturbing, it may recommend solutions and, or exercises created by therapists that may be useful. The user is then given the opportunity to write or speak freely in a dated entry that is completely private. Users can attach photos or videos to their entries. That app has a tab that lists resources that may be helpful for different situations like abuse, questions about religion, or suicidal thoughts. List of Hotlines – Please Live

Upgraded Criteria

I feel that many people don’t know how many resources there actually are outside of seeing and paying for a therapist. I think that this is something that could save lives. There are also many benefits to writing in a diary, and keeping track of thoughts. Some benefits include alleviating stress, self-expression, increases memory, and surprisingly can strengthen your immune system. I think that having a diary that you take everywhere, that is there for you always, can really help people. It also creates a habit of self-awareness, and allows people to learn how to understand and interpret their thoughts and feelings.

Supportive context

I think that right now, there is a large spotlight on the importance of mental health. I think that there is more of an initiative for people to treat their mental health as they do their physical health. But I think that this app can really help communities who cannot afford therapy, or may not understand the significance of taking care of ones mind. It could even grow to a point where people can find the right therapist fit for them, who resides close to their community on the app. It could be a good reference that can save lives and inspire users to share what they have learned with their peers.

Weigh Costs

I think the only monetary value would come from developing the app, and the people who help to make the experience easy, clean and simple for users. I would also hire therapists to help develop exercises, design questions, and provide proper wording for users, so that the app is a safe space.
