INNOVATIVE DESIGN: Application and/or website promoting men and women’s mental health, designed for friendly venting and support from anonymous users dealing with similar issues. Designed with different options of subtopics to choose from within the general problem of mental health. Users can choose or switch between topics to view chats from others about the certain problems of the subtopics, and discuss between another different ways to coupe with these various issues. The application would respond to these topics chosen and receive notifications of self improvement within these topics, also people can “upvote” certain comments created and when a certain amount of votes is reached it will become a notification. There would also be a psychological aspect integrated into the app to show why those feeling are brought to the user and what can be done to combat these feelings.

UPGRADED CRITERIA: Group Dynamics. These subtopics within the narrative of mental health would consist of group conversation and problem solving in a friendly environment, designed to coupe with feelings of depression or distress. Users can find people who are actively going through similar circumstances and vent to each other about said subject and discuss possible ways to improve or avoid these feelings. There would also be an integrated video hangout where groups of people can video chat and discuss their situations with others. Alcoholics Anonymous is an example of a program which contains non-digital meetings to discuss these topics having to do with addiction. Users can also set up meetings in person with each other if desired, as there would be a location setting with people near you. Another aspect of the application would be progress tracking. Users would be able to choose exactly which sorts of feelings they are trying to combat, and the application will generate steps to take to overcome these feelings. These steps can be tracked and shown as some sort of score on the users profile, which makes the user a more experienced user in fixing mental health issues. This would make it so that users with a higher score can receive more views on their posts based on their experience, and even begin to earn income on certain popular posts. There would also be a feature where users can donate to other mentors if their ideas and advice helped them go through something.

SUPPORTIVE CONTEXT: The users with higher score are rewarded with a higher amount of attention from other who they have helped, and therefore increase the likelihood of donation by these people. For every 10,000 upvotes in a post, the user receives $100 along with donations.

WEIGH COSTS: App costs $5 to purchase, also offers a subscription service for $12 a month which enables the user to be fed with the most applicable advice automatically for his/her problem. It would also allow the user to easily access and source the best and most helpful ways and methods to coupe with said feelings and would also provide the psychological reasonings of why they feel a certain way and how to combat them. These features would not come standard with the app, the user must have the subscription to access them.
