This is the picture I chose for my damaging meme. Before and during Trump’s presidency I saw a lot of these types of pictures. Photoshopping Trump to make him look badass, I’ve seen his head photoshopped onto the body of Rocky Balboa and I’ve seen him photoshopped on top of a tank that says his name on the side with a giant American flag on it and fireworks going off in the background. These are all damaging memes or images because they’re lifting up Trump to make it seem like he’s some godly figure and if you don’t like him it’s unpatriotic. Now in this image not only is Trump presented in a godly way, holding a sword while lightning goes off in the back with and American flag, he’s also holding the severed head of Hilary Clinton. This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen that relates to the President of the United States. Could you imagine any other country doing something like this. Pictures like these are the reason every other country thought we were a joke when he was president. Other memes about Trump were harmful too because some people my age didn’t even care about the politics side of things they just thought he was funny so they were going to vote for him. I think that pictures like this make a mockery of our election system and take away the legitimacy of whoever is in the office at the time.

Luckily for me I didn’t even have to create a new meme about Trump because there’s just so many options that already exist. I think things like this should go way more viral than the stuff that makes him seem like a badass. You can say it’s unfair to pick something that sheds him in a negative light but at least this actually happened. I honestly don’t know how anyone could defend him here. I think this picture or incident heals the wound somewhat because it shows not only that Trump isn’t a godlike figure that you want to look up to, but he’s quite honestly someone you shouldn’t want to be anything like. Real incidents like this when Trump does something wrong or even right should be the things that go viral. Not photoshopped pictures of him holding the head of his opponent.

Trump was such a divisive person that I don’t think there’s any way to make the good news travel faster than the bad news, because the people that were against him would instantly post anything he said wrong and the people that were for him would defend him, attack Obama or other democrats, or make memes and pictures like the first one.
