I knew that I wanted to create something around the idea of natural light. The idea of catching energy infers that it is created else where and thats when I thought of catching fireflies more specifically my first thought was actually the fireflies from ‘The Princess and the Frog.’ How I began this process was by finding a reference picture for a jar. I found a sticker from redbubble that was a digital drawing of a jar and thought the idea was really cute. Eventually I sat down got working on the jaw and I drew small flys but I had a hard time conveying that these were fireflies that were glowing. It was frustrating at I had entirely forgot how to change the opacity of a color. I started to change the color value but that was no use. I had to take a break and come back and up in the right hand corner I finally found the opacity and played around for a little bit until I liked the final product. This task felt like a reintroduction to illustrator since it had been a while from using it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
NMD200 Logo- Morgann Critchett I chose principle #2 catch and store energy and to represent that I chose to draw a little jar of fireflies.
