The idea for my project came from one of the goals I hope to achieve by taking this course; a better understanding of how use my photography to better capture the human element, or rather, to have more of a journalistic or documentation style of aesthetic to my images. With that said, I abandoned my original, nature themed, project in favor of this,
Laurie Jones is a Maine native, mother, grandmother, artist and songwriter. In the style of music journalists such as Cameron Crowe or Hunter S. Thompson, I am putting together an intimate look at a local artist, musician and songwriter. Through the use of imagery, audio and even video, I plan to explore Laurie’s art and songs, gaining a perspective on her musical career; in addition, perhaps we will gain an inside look at being an independent songwriter or artist in Maine.
