I took these on my daily walk to all of my classes one day. On my way to all of my normal activities, I stopped at the places with the best foliage I could find and took a picture. I decided I liked the way the buildings looked peeking through the leaves. This is my path across campus, starting facing away from my residence hall and walking towards the mall, then behind the library, and over towards Estabrooke on my way to work. Then, I came back the road to my dorm.
I think the audience that would look at these photos would be anyone who likes fall foliage, but also someone who like architecture, especially brick. It could also be anyone looking to see what a college student does during the day. I think the audience would like to look at pictures like this as a series to see what people like doing in college, or just to enjoy some fall photography.
The story I really want to tell is a topic I’m interested in focusing on for a possible capstone project. It’s pretty personal, but I’m also very open about it, and I would like to bring awareness to it. For the past 7 years, it is believed I have been suffering with a condition called endometriosis, which is an incurable, hereditary, chronic disease caused by the lining of the uterus to grow outside instead of the inside. While I have not yet been officially diagnosed-I’m having the diagnostic surgery over winter break- I’ve had a bunch of doctors appointments over the past few years to try and figure out how to solve/deal with the problem.
For an audience, I think this story will appeal to people who also suffer from any sort of long term condition. I also think anyone who has an interest in chronic illness, or what it’s like to live day to day would find this interesting. I want the audience to feel as though they know what it’s like to walk a day in the shoes of someone with a condition that affects day to day life.
