Assignment10_MegC

The 7 elements I used were Texture, Light, Shadow, Pattern, Negative Space, Tonality, and Quality of Light. For these images I really tried to focus on the content of the picture, playing with different angles and lightings.

In the first image, I tried hard to direct the model to create an image which represents the grief I am feeling currently, the blanket over her head is something I often do to comfort myself. this is one of the first times I’ve ever directed a model on my own for the purpose of recreating a feeling.

For the second image, I really tried to play with the contrast of light which gave it a sort of a lonely mood which I wasn’t really expecting.

The third image plays with a pattern I found in the cover of my journal, I was immediately attracted to the pale, soothing color. I tried to take this picture from an interesting angle to direct the eye of the audience across the image.

The forth image is of a thumbtack hole in my wall. The color contrast is interesting to me as well as the fact that you can tell that the dot is a hole by the way the wall curves into the hole and disappears.

The fifth image is probably the most textured thing in my apartment, a cat scratcher. Not only can you almost feel the texture of the toy but also there is a horizontal and vertical pattern to the weave itself.
