Longer Winter Nights / It is Time to Flip the Switch / Artificial Light
I started with the image of the sunset as the base layer, then overlaid the light switch, and finally an edited copy of the sunset on top to pull the textures into the photograph of the light switch. The image of the light switch is flipped and duplicated in the final composition. Each layer is edited and masked to highlight and draw focus to a particular piece of the original photograph. Additionally, Joline asked me to somehow clarify the significance of the two photos together for me which I’ve decided to do with Haikus.
Empty Walls Around / Light the Path nearby my House / Warmth for all Inside
The composition for this photo is similar to first, the texture layer is used on the base and very top layer while various edits to the empty wall with lights are made in the two middle layers, again the light photos are flipped. This image was a little harder to create and setup because the images are different sizes and do not line up as obviously as the first image did for me. This image is significant to me because my walls are almost completely empty, but in a similar sense so is the rock wall. Together they create familiar setting which normally would not exist together.
