The location I picked was Hauck Auditorium. The set from the most recent show was still up, and the theatre was completely empty and dark other than the ghost light and one of the wing lights.
Shadow- A dark theatre is one of the coolest things I think. When the elevator opens there is obviously a lot of light, but the theatre just kind of eats it because its so big.
Light- Ghost lights are just cool and I like them, in this case I liked how the point of light was the first thing you notice, followed by everything else.
Depth- part of the set included this rug. I put the camera down on it and took a long exposure so I could get the house in the shot as well.
Line- I like this one because even though most of the image is comprised of straight lines, they are all diagonals.
Texture- In theatre mirrors are usually dulled to make sure that they don’t reflect things to the audience or mess with lights. When paired with a textured wall and a longish exposure, I ended up with an image I really liked.
Pattern- More awesome contrasts, as well as interesting shadows from the ghost light.
Color- All I did with this image was bring up the whites, blacks, shadows, and highlights to get a better exposure. The really cool color contrast was built into the set design.
I wanted to try and show how empty a theater feels when it’s not being used.
This is just a cool image I got, I don’t know what keyword it would fit, but it reminded me of an antique shop or something.
