1. Self-revelation, need, and desire 1.Sylvius realizes he has treated his brother unfairly. Sylvius needs to learn how to understand and work with his brother to do what is best for the kingdom. Sylvius desires to reclaim the kingdom from The Scourge.
2. Ghost and story world 2.  The Scourge attacked the kingdom of Sylvans in the night. The one who allowed it in is a mystery. Sylvius and Azrael’s parents, the king and queen, were killed, and Azrael lost his wife when The Scourge overtook him and made him kill her. Azrael took his baby brother and his kingdom to safety underground.
3. Weakness and need 3. Sylvius – judgemental, harsh, militaristic, stoic. Psychological need – to get over himself and learn that not everything is easy for everyone. Moral need – to stop mistreating his ill brother.
4. Inciting event 4. The humans arrive and The Scourge attacks them
5. Desire 5. To reclaim the kingdom from The Scourge, and to figure out who summoned it

9. First revelation and decision: Changed desire and motive 9. The humans are now just as trapped and vulnerable as the Sylvans. This causes Sylvius to incorporate the humans and their tactics into the plan.
10. Plan 10. To rescue every Sylvan from the overtaken kingdom and bring them underground, gather information about The Scourge and find out who summoned it, then break the seal and fight The Scourge off.
11. Opponent’s plan and main counterattack 11. The Scourge – keep fighting until everyone is under its control
Azrael – avoids the conflict as much as he can, pushes a lot of the work on Sylvius
Sage – has to convince Sylvius to trust her even though she’s human (fake-opponent ally)
12. Drive 12. Sylvius confronts Azrael about his substance abuse and his lack of motivation to lead.
-Sylvius and Aliyah meet to talk about battle strategy
-Sage has a training session with each of the others
-Sylvius shows Sage some good hiding areas above ground
-Sylvius is cold towards Aliyah and Azrael, especially Azrael
13. Attack by ally 13. Azrael was the one to summon The Scourge, but they find out he no longer has the seal, so they can’t break it.
14. Apparent defeat 14. The group goes on a rescue mission and to look for the seal, but Sylvius gets overtaken and has to be left behind.
15. Second revelation and decision: Obsessive drive, changed desire and motive 15. Sylvius feels abandoned and betrayed that they left without him. He wonders if they know he’s alive or not, or if they care. He has a crisis over this, as his mind has just been weakened substantially by being possessed. His plan changes drastically to include only himself.
16. Audience revelation
16. Flashback of Azrael summoning The Scourge in order to gain power, but it backfires and causes the kingdom to be driven apart.
17. Third revelation and decision 17. Sylvius realizes that Azrael summoned it to gain power, and judges him on it. His plan changes to make Azrael essentially an enemy. He no longer trusts him at all.
18. Gate, gauntlet, visit to death 18. Azrael and Sylvius have a heated argument that ends in both of them being miserable and entering the battlefield with unresolved problems.
19. Battle 19. The group goes to fight The Scourge along with the subsequent restless wildlife destroying the kingdom.
20. Self-revelation 20. The Scourge possesses Azrael and makes him fight Sage. He overpowers her and threatens to kill her if Sylvius doesn’t kill him first. Sylvius realizes just how much he is about to lose.
21. Moral decision 21. Sylvius has to make the decision to kill his brother when there is clearly no other option for survival.
22. New equilibrium 22. Sylvius and Aliyah are left, Sylvius then struggles with mental health and grief, becomes a bitter and angry man. Aliyah takes charge to help him run the kingdom.
Other? Epilogue: Sylvius and Aliyah become king and queen together and Sylvius relies on Aliyah for stability. When he is inconsolable, she is the only one who can help him.
