  1. Define Premise, using your own words

A premise is basically a concept for a story or show or movie.

  1. Given an example of a premise from a popular movie or story that we might all know. This can be from an anime story or a different kind of story.

The premise of Demon Slayer is a boy, Tanjiro, goes on a journey to find the creator of demons to turn his sister back into a human when she’s turned into a demon.

  1. Craft a premise for a story you’d like to create this semester. To do this, answer the following (you may want to copy this list into your post and then answer each point
  1. Premise:
    Write down your premise in one sentence.Ask yourself if this premise line has the makings of a story that could change your life.

The premise for my story is a boy, Cole, has been cursed by a demon, Circe, and joins a group of demon hunters to eradicate the world of demons and to figure out how to live with his curse.

  1. Possibilities:
    Look for what is possible in the premise. Write down options.

*Cole can have demonic powers

*Circe is an antagonist at first but eventually becomes a part of Cole

*demons are evil

*the group of demon hunters face many trials

*the environment could be almost post-apocalyptic like

*character deaths

  1. Story Challenges and Problems:
    Describe as many of the story challenges and problems that are unique to your idea as you can think of.

*Cole has to deal with his curse and learn to live with it

*there’s battle scenes against demons

*moral issues

*protag/antag disputes

*deaths

  1. Designing Principle:
    Come up with the designing principle of your story idea. Remember that this principle describes some deeper process or form in which the story will play out in a unique way.

Cole is cursed by a demon named Circe and as he joins a group of demon hunters, has to learn how to live with the curse while fighting demons to save the world from their reign.

  1. Best Character:
    Determine the best character in the idea. Make that character the hero of your premise.

  1. Conflict:
    Ask yourself “Who is my hero fighting, and what is he fighting about?”

Demons to figure out his curse and to dethrone them.

  1. Basic Action:
    Find the single cause-and-effect pathway by identifying a basic action that your hero will take in the story.

Demons have taken over the world and Cole and his band of demon hunters have to defeat them.

  1. Character Change:
    Figure out the possible character change for your hero, starting with the basic action ( A ) and then going to the opposites of the basic action to determine his weaknesses ( W ) at the beginning and his change ( C ) at the end.

Defeating the demons, learn something about the demons that changes Cole’s way of thinking, moral decisiveness.

  1. Moral Choice:

Deciding whether or not the demons are good and have a reason for being there or if they truly are evil and need to be eradicated.
