I was not the best hockey player, and my older brother stopped playing first, but our younger brother was a natural star. It does not take an expert to recognize the talent he has.

He changed teams constantly, would fly out to countries to play for special teams, and even worked at a hockey camp for a whole summer. I was occupied with my own work and could not make it to every game. I had to stop asking him what team he played for, because it was a different name every other time I asked! It was very impressive to watch, especially being his older brother and being there to see his growth as a player and a person.

Such a drastic change to be sure, but my father received an incredible new job offer and the opportunity could not be passed up. I was optimistic, as were my parents, and my older brother was going to college. Carson, on the other hand, was much more hesitant. Texas is known for being rather hot. Hockey is known for being played on the ice. Thus, a little tension grew between my younger brother and my parents. It was warranted, and I was on his side, but I also saw my parents frustration with his attitude. Nonetheless, we moved to Texas, and found Carson a hockey team to play on, and all seemed well.
