For my project I would like to recount and explore my personal experience dealing with the COVID 19 outbreak as an RA on campus. My job placed me in a unique position were I was responsible for the wellbeing of the residents living in the dorm, and was the first person many of the students looked to upon hearing school would be closed for the semester. This time of year was already busy, and COVID 19 added another layer of chaos that nobody was prepared to deal with. The question between my own responsibilities as a student and as an RA were explored, as I struggled to determine how I should respond to the news. Additionally, this experienced served as a unique lesson where I was forced in a situation where I didn’t have someone to look up to for answers, because they were just as clueless as I was. The experience, while chaotic, served as an opportunity to explore personal responsibility and responsibility to others.
