Description:
We, the Heberts, are a four person middle class family from the small town of Scituate Massachusetts, consisting of a myself, two parents who’d been public school teachers all their lives, and Theresa. Our public high school had a reputation of churning out bright kids, and my sister was definitely one of them.
Scene:
“Don’t run on the stairs” Mom would scold me, “Your sister is trying to study.” Many people would forgive my confusion, it was a sunday, a time to relax before the dreaded school weak began again, and an antsy eleven year old boy like myself was not keen on wasting it. My sister Theresa did not agree. Annoyed at my loud prescience and ramping the volume of her own music to drown out the house beyond her desk, Theresa was brilliant kid from the top of our small town’s public high school, and Sunday was not a time to be wasted on play.
