- WEAKNESS & NEED
Psychological and Moral Self-Revelation
Our hero and MC have grown up his whole life on the verge of poverty. He never had anything until he took the chance with investing into crypto. He will face a moral obligation when he gets the money sent to him. He has a very sick mother and times are tough for them, not being able to afford basic medicine. When he gets the money sent to him he knows that this is too much money for people to turn a blind eye to and forget. So he will decide if he should try to keep the money and get away to save his mother and his family. Or if he will give the money back and end all the problems there. This is an extremely hard decision for him, and will result in life or death situations.
Psychological and Moral Weakness and Need
After figuring out the self-revelation, go back to the beginning of the story. Try to give your hero both a psychological and a moral weakness and need. Remember the key difference. A psychological weakness or need affects just the hero. A moral weakness or need affects others. Come up with not one but many weaknesses for your hero. These should be serious flaws, so deep and dangerous that they are ruining your hero’s life or have the real possibility of doing so.
Psychological Weakness:
- Persistent
- Hungry
- Relentless
- Strong willed
- Gritty
Moral Weakness:
- Will do anything to help out and save his family.
- Not afraid of danger
- Puts others into scary situations
Problem
– The very first problem our hero will face is early in his life when he is on the verge of poverty, and at sometimes homeless. That and when his mother gets sick, he must do anything possible to save her and make her better. This all leads to the real problem when all the crypto gets sent to his wallet and he sees it as a get out of this lifestyle, and he will finally be able to save his mother.
- DESIRE
– My hero’s desire is to get his impoverished family out of their bad neighborhood and life, and move on the bigger and better things.
– Save his mother’s life by being able to afford her medication and surgery.
– It is also to save his family’s life from the harm’s way of the cartel. Since the hero won’t return the crypto he will have to help his family survive.
- OPPONENT
– The opponent here is the cartel, but more importantly the real opponent is the leader names “The Boss”
– His main goal is to get his millions of $’s back from our MC.
– Another opponent to the MC is himself. He faces many challenges, and sometimes doesn’t make the right decision because he is sad or angry.
- PLAN
Create a plan that requires the hero to take a number of actions but also to adjust when the initial plan doesn’t work. The plan generally shapes the rest of the story. So it must involve many steps. Otherwise you will have a very short story. The plan must also be unique and complex enough that the hero will have to adjust when it fails.
– The hero’s main plan is to get his family out of harms way and to save his mother from her sickness.
– He will attempt to talk to the “Opponents” but it won’t go well and he must flee.
– While on the run he seeks help from his friends, forming a group to work together and save each other.
– Create a “trap” on the enemy where they plan on meeting up and talking it over
– It will look like our MC is trapped and doomed, but his friends planned out an escape, and to stop the cartel people.
- BATTLE
What will be the critical conflict that decides if the protagonist achieves their goal?
– The biggest conflict of the story is when our MC goes to meet “The boss”
– In this scene they will be in a big empty warehouse, the MC will appear to be trapped. But the cartel doesn’t realize he has friends helping him.
– The conflict that ensues will be the final battle in the story, where the hero is on his last leg, and somehow miraculously gets saved.
– This will give him time to talk to the boss and tell him he doesn’t want any problems any more.
– The boss is heavily wounded and the hero’s friend are telling him they should call the police to stop him.
-Our hero will decide not to call the police out of fear they will take all the money, and he went through all the danger for nothing.
– After this he leaves The Boss heavily wounded and we can assume he dies
– This gives our hero time to escape and go on the run again.
* Might add in a part where one of the friends actually dies (creating more emotion in story)
- SELF -REVELATION
What deeper understanding about themselves does the protagonist realize?
– After all this the protagonist realizes what he just want through, and maybe it wasn’t all worth it.
– He went through hell and back, and even lost a friend in the process.
– He breaks down in tears apologizing to all the people who were affected, he knew that he let his weaknesses get the best of him.
–
- NEW EQUILIBRIUM
What is the new order that emerges? What has changed?
- At the end of the story we move past a couple months after the final battle and it’s the hero and his family at their dream home in a different country.
- For now they are safe and have nothing to worry about, spending the millions they had, and overall getting back to a normalish life.
- Our MC will live life always looking over his shoulder and regretting what he put his friends and family through, but he knows he did what he had to.
- His mother is healthy, and his younger siblings love their new life.
- They never have to face the monetary problems again.
