Jo: She is a warrior in the sense that she must learn how to fight with her words in order to voice her opinions that could end up saving someone. (Mental Warrior)

Sargent Ali: He is going to be the kid’s mentor during their first week in training. He will be there to guide them. Yet, once they turn up to the hospital in a Sleep-like trance he believes that he has failed them. Unknowing that his lessons were a crucial part that kept most of them alive. (Mentor/Teacher/Warrior)

Actions Taken:

  1. Ali helps the MCs learn how to survive… they use his knowledge to handle things they find in their hell even if they might use his instructions in other ways than Ali intended.

Actions Taken:

  1. Kitsune has been expecting the MCs and is finally happy to have company. He tries to seem welcoming at first but he realizes that Diyo does not respect him as he should. This angers Kitsune so he takes his anger out on Diyo by tearing the only other person he cares for in the world besides his mother. Kitsune kills Katia.
  2. Kitsune realizes what he has done and characteristically does not seem to care. He can tell how broken this makes the MCs and realizes that this was not how things were supposed to go. Knowing that he messed up the timeline he panics and we really see that he is just as scared and lonely as Diyo deep down.

ARCHETYPE DESCRIPTION

Protagonist: My protagonists are warriors because

  1. They are actively trying to protect those around them.
  2. When they trust one another it makes their “army” group stronger
  3. They are learning to become better people through actions that help each other even if they don’t want to in the beginning.

My protagonists are different because

  1. Despite what they think they cannot get out of this “dream” alive without the help of each other
  2. They do not want to believe that the only option to solving a solution is violence.
  3. Most of my characters do not start out as a warrior, they turn into one throughout the story. Also, each character has one or more different archetypes embedded within their personalities.

Antagonist: My antagonist is a trickster because

  1. Kitsune uses their powers to literally trick the MCs into believing the hallucination.
  2. Kitsune Lies to protect the secrecy of the dream
  3. His confidence in his illusions and the pure confusion on the MC’s faces is one of the things he truly enjoys

My antagonist is different because

  1. Despite him showing the MC’s their worst demons he is actually helping them become who they were truly meant to be
  2. Despite Kitsune being alone he secretly enjoys the company of the MCs and enjoy seeing their growth. He could kill them all if he wanted to.
  3. Once the MC’s figure out what is happening Kitsune helps them escape because they have beaten him without violence which is something he is not used to.

This is important for my story because without the stereotypes of these archetypes I would not be able to build off of them and create my own versions of those stereotypes. This helps to truly form a complete character by blending and mixing the archetypes within each character.
