We begin with Damien standing in the throne room with the empress- Euphemia. The conversation is light as we begin to explore the realm of who Damien is. We learn in this scene that Damien is the son of Maliya and Dalaf Etnik, a fabled name that is the protector against the beasts. Beasts haven’t actively raged against the humans in what seems to be ten years. Peace has been known but there is a foreshadowing based off a reading that is quoted by a servant that stands in the throne room.

Damien leaves after being dismissed by the empress of Silias (the country), he makes his way through the city soon crossing paths with those who fight in his band of members. We are introduced to Axel, Amaya, and Linos. They speak of the other members, which allows the audience to piece things together about Damien’s friendships and allies.

Damien soon makes his way home and which is a large apartment hidden in the suburbs of the city. He takes off much of his heavy armor before he creeps around into his bedroom. His servant by the name of Jeeves interrupts his thoughts.

“Something that’ll interest you has arrived today.”

“What exactly would that be?”

Damien fixes his gaze over onto his desk, a finely produced envelope rests on his desk. He recognizes the seal and he hides a smile on his face.

We jump back to exactly Aldous’s face. The both of them, Damien and him, are standing in a classroom where they talk about the taboos of dark magic. People around them are whispering and hesitant to show the discomfort of the topic. A professor approaches them and tells them that if they continue the conversation that they would be meeting with the head professor of the program.
