For Chihiro, when she has to move and character development throughout the movie. For Chihiro\u2019s parents, when they turn into pigs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Symbolic Worlds<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Most of the residents are animals.<\/li>\n<li>The setting is an old amusement park.<\/li>\n<li>The bathhouse and the \u2018amusement park\u2019 co-exist but give different vibes.<\/li>\n<li>The train connects different worlds.<\/li>\n<li>The spirits only come out at night; this alludes to old beliefs of Japanese yokai.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Symbolic Objects<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The food (at the beginning of the movie and throughout).<\/li>\n<li>Golds.<\/li>\n<li>Water.<\/li>\n<li>Hair tie from Zeniba that acts as a protective charm.<\/li>\n<li>Train ticket from Kamaji.<\/li>\n<li>River Spirit\u2019s herbal cake that helps cure Haku.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Flight to Failure:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Story Symbol<br \/>\n<\/strong>The main symbol my story is the plane. The plane represents the journey she is taking to get to everything she had ever wanted, but also makes her recognize that she can&#8217;t succeed at everything.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Symbolic Characters<\/strong><br \/>\nProtagonist- Kelly, overcomes her fear of failure in a freak situation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Symbolic Theme<\/strong><br \/>\nThe theme is in the title, the flight to failure, this story is about a girl who has to overcome her fear of failure in order to get home safely.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Symbolic Worlds<\/strong><br \/>\nThe gas represents an unusable environment that provides an opportunity for Kelly to do the right thing.<br \/>\nThe man on the radio in the control tower is helping her get home safe.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Symbolic Objects<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u00a0The manual plays a large role because not everyone can just do something via instructions, sometimes experiences and reality plays a larger role.
