Overview – My world is going to be a medieval themed world, with some fantasy elements to keep things interesting. There will be fantasy themed races (think Lord of The Rings). Also, there will be standard simple materials (wood, stone, iron, etc.) with some (not a lot) of arcane elements added in as well late game.
Key locations – Biomes (Woods, Desert, Mountains, Plains, Swamp, and Ocean), the Wizards Village (Located at the polar opposite end of the map to you, final destination), your own village (Grows with you!), randomly generated dungeons (Crypt, Pyramid, Ice Fort, Enemy camp, Leech beds, and Underwater Temples), friendly towns, enemy towns, and much more.
Travel – Initially by foot -> horse -> boat -> zeppelin -> portal is the progression of transportation
Scale – I’d like to have the game be pretty big (i.e. a planet from No Man’s Sky).
Objects – Oh man, there are so many objects in the game. Special, maybe an endgame weapon for beating the final boss?
Weather – Biome oriented with a precipitation and dryness scale randomly set for different days (simulated weather!)
Day/night – Day is peaceful night has more baddies
Game Engine & why – I’d probably develop my own for it. If I had to choose I would use Unity. Unreal engine is to nice looking for what I want to do, I think cell-shaded graphics would work well on Unity.
Camera – 1st -> 3rd choices
Environment–2D? 3D? etc – 3D
Lighting – Regular?
Setting Game Summary – Okay, this world is going to be massive. You’re not going to explorer the whole thing, understand that? It’s vast, unseen. and eager to be discovered. So what? What are you going to do? The world is your oyster! This would be a pitch for it I guess? it’s going to be massive! Think about minecraft, big world that is yours for the taking.
