How New Elements Add to Player Story in Dunderhead Looks for Love<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new elements in Dunderhead Looks for Love<\/em> increase player story as the player is offered more interaction for greater immersion. \u00a0One thread may lead Dunderhead to death; another to grappling with the idea of what love means as a parent. In certain sections I embedded a passage to avoid a clumsy link. New images add to player story, for example, the sensuous sway of seaweed, an indication of the environment, have as Evan Skolnick asserts in Video Game Storytelling: What Every Developer Needs to Know about Narrative Techniques <\/em>(p 231), “the power to take on a huge part of the storytelling effort.” Audio and sound effects matter as well. The crying of Baby Sardine, brings \u00a0as Evan Skolnick further asserts, \u201cthe fantasy alive and make[s] the player feel even more immersed in the experience.\u201d (p 258)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mobster the Lobster is  jealous of the budding communion as he has always wanted Squid Pro Quo for himself. He  rushes out, captures Squid Pro Quo, and puts her on the menu. So they grab their lanterns, kidnap Diogenes the Consigliere and live blissfully exploring all facets of love until\u2026\n\nDiogenes the Consilgiere, tired of all the love mush, gives the couple a rare first edition signed by the author copy of \u201cLove in the Western World\u201d by Denis de Rougemont.  The book is deep, and reads like an anti-love potion. Don Dunderhead and Sally Sardine gradually fall out of love.
