What would you do with the freedom to create ?

Eye Glass a Unity application which uses virtual reality. The application would allow users to construct environments around them. Allowing the person to create 3d objects using their hands(VR controllers). They will be able to make 3d sketches using different materials depending on the users preferences. This application would enhance a person creativity and enhance their ability to express their artistic style through virtual reality .

This virtual reality project would be an important step forward in fully utilizing the capabilities of virtual reality. Allowing for new types of arts and 3d environments while creating the ability for virtual reality developers to freely design their environments in a cohesive way. As a society we have only scratched the potential of virtual Reality and have only nearly started applying it towards advancements in education.

My education at the University of Maine inspired me to want to make Eye Glass due the new media degree. we learned about Interfaces, designs,  audiences and being able to critically think about situations.I am also minoring in  graphic design and had a really strong urge to want to combine graphics interfaces with virtual reality to create something entirely new.

I am suited towards working on this application because I have extensive knowledge working with 3d animation engines such as Maya, Cinema 4d, Blender along with 8 years of experience in Unity and Unreal Game engines. I can also program in multiple languages (Java Script ,C++,C,Visual Basic,HTML,CSS) which gives me a firm understanding of the base code needed to program such a project with the artistic an animation experience to include in this project.

This application could have an effect on the video game industry because it could be used as a way to make virtual reality environments for games. While also having an affect on art industries, classes, colleges, art museums. Instead of having to actually go to an art museums you could experience it in virtual reality while also providing a way for new types of 3d arctic work to be created by artist.

I would also like to create a way for artist to collaborate with each other so that they may share ideas while getting feed back on their art. Some of my concerns would be that other Art and animation design industries might feel threatened due to this possible advance in technology and the way that it could be used. This will provide  a way for artists and viewers to communicate with each other could inspire the artists to create new types of art.

Virtual Reality is a new technology that has recently hit the markets so their haven’t been many applications made for the virtual reality system just yet. The intended audience of Eye Glass is for people who are between the age of 15-45 with a Virtual reality set up and a desire to create 3d environments.
