1. PROJECT: Product Tag

My Project is a different way of viewing advertisements on social media platforms. Essentially it is a machine learning system that detects previously selected products in a picture and allows users to visit the location where that item is sold through a tag in the image as if the product where a friend of the user.

2. KEY VALUES (YOURS, AND THOSE OF PROJECT):

The key value of my project is to promote advertising of businesses on social media platform in a positive way for both the consumer and the business itself. My project also looks to lower experience hindering traffic on social media websites.

3. MEASURE OF SUCCESS:

In order to see my project as a success it would need to increase advertisement and hyperlink turnover rates on social media platforms but at the same time increase the user experience for the consumer as well as raise their satisfaction with the way in which the advertisements are being presented.

    • Give users a more emotional experience by allowing them to connect with users more than advertising brands and businesses
  • ATTENTION
    • Take attention away from ads and direct it towards user content, without losing the effectiveness of those ads.

    • Allows users to get a sense for the world we live in and how marketing affects us without taking away from a major part in today’s society, social media content.
  • DECISION MAKING
    • Causes modern brands and business to shift their focus and marketing efforts to more user centered designs and connecting with users emotionally

IN WHAT WAYS DOES YOUR PROJECT CURRENTLY ENGAGE HUMAN SENSITIVITIES?

  • Adding tags into posts may be clustered at first, but over time the UX of these tags can be altered to be more fluid and user friendly.
  • Peoples current ideas and views may hinder them from seeing the benefits in this method of advertising.

HOW MIGHT YOUR PROJECT SUPPORT OR ELEVATE HUMAN SENSITIVITIES?

  • Humans have an innate sense to belong and emotionally connect with other humans we view as close to us. This allows for the system to trigger a sense of “FOMO” if they do not buy the products that their friends are wearing.
  • A possible try on option which puts the tagged item on your in your pictures as a tst could allow users to feel like they belong with their friends in any situation
  • They may need to be limits set in place as to not overload users with tags and advertisements, which could cause an adverse effect towards users than designed.
