1. IDENTIFY YOUR AUDIENCE

a) Your capstone’s ideal target audience, and

My ideal target audience would be children and young adults who are visually impaired, low vision or blind.

b) The users you have access to who is closest to that audience. Which people/folders/organizations are you soliciting? Give names

VEMI Lab, Accessibility Department, Blind Students on Campus, Myself, and low vision/blind friends.

2. DEPLOYMENT OPTIONS

As far as deployment. I am intending to manufacture 3 of each design. I would like to have one for myself, my sister and my ex-co-worker at Disney. I do not intend to launch as a company as the content is all copyrighted. It is very complicated to sell or make any profits off of anything with Disney / Star Wars information in it.

For user testing I was planning on creating an obstacle course. I was going to utilize hay bails as obsticles. I would allow seeing users to blind fold themselves. Instruct on how to use the cane and proceed through the obstacles with time. I would present the winner time with a candy bar. I have been in contact with the disability department on campus as well as with teh VEMI lab for assistance qith access to blind students on campus. I would allow them to use it for a day with my cane to allow to test for durability and functionality with multiple blind users. I would personally use it for a week to get my own feedback.
