- A Crystal mine is invaded by large robot soldiers, then our main character (robot), Ridge, catches a glimpse of the soldiers’ leader, Metonym, then Ridge escapes with a stolen weapon.
- Ridge returns home to warn everyone, but arrives to see that his village has been completely destroyed, and sees multiple tracks leading into desert, but stopping shortly after.
- Ridge hears Metonym’s forces nearing the town, then raises his gun to fire, but is gunned down by numerous blasts to the body, falling into his back nearing death.
- The Hylon military arrives and fights against the rogue soldiers, with President Tract showing up and saving Ridge, who “passes out” as the battle is being fought. Tract is the President of the Hylon Republic, and also a leader on the frontlines of battle.
- Ridge wakes up feeling strange, seeing a lab area with small scientist robots. Ridge then realizes that he is in a completely new, larger body, then Tract enters the lab and is amazed at Ridge‘s recovery, but Ridge becomes fixated on a window, which he approaches and looks outside to see the lively planet of Hylon. A new world is something he’s never experienced before, so he needs a moment to take it all in, and Tract helps by showing him around.
- Tract explains who Metonym is and that he plans to overthrow Tract as President of the Hylon Republic, and rule over its citizens with fear and violence, a key part of his plan being to fortify all major export zones for high value items, like Valnum Crystals. Tract tells Ridge that he’s been rebuilt for a purpose, a chance to avenge his village and friends, and offers Ridge a role in fighting Metonym’s forces, introducing Ridge to Lurax, Tract’s Vice President and military advisor, who details the plan of assault on Metonym’s base.
- Tract and Ridge infiltrate Metoynm’s base back in the mines, but it’s a trap and everything goes wrong, leading to a battle between Metonym and Ridge. Ridge however actually does well in the fight, anger fueling his attacks, making Metonym try talking to him instead, realizing that Ridge may be too powerful to be beaten at the moment.
- Metonym tells Ridge some shocking facts about the Hylon Republic, then manages to escape, making Ridge question his feelings about Tract and everything.
- There’s not much time to contemplate when Metonym suddenly launches a full scale assault on Hylon’s HQ, Mesial Tower. This is where Ridge, Tract, and Metonym battle with their clashing ideologies, each having their own way for society to be constructed, or rather Ridge is caught in the middle of Tract and Metonym’s war, being the only one who can stop it.
1. WEAKNESS & NEED
Psychological and Moral Self-Revelation
The hero, Ridge, becomes a powerful being and fights for the protection of his society’s survival. Ridge realizes that he needs to use his brain and his brawn for everyone, rather than just the brawn for revenge over his friends’/family’s deaths.
Psychological and Moral Weakness and Need
Ridge is filled with anger for what happened to his people, which drives him initially ion the story, but he is also very caring for people, no matter what side of the battle they’re on, a feeling not everyone around him shares.
Problem
Ridge’s mining job-site and village are destroyed, and Ridge undergoes a rebirth which makes him a super soldier, giving him the power to fight the ones who destroyed his home.
2. DESIRE
Ridge wants to use his newfound power for revenge over the death of his family/friends, and protect his society and race.
3. OPPONENT
Metonym is a war hardened soldier, doing nearly anything necessary to overthrow his race’s current government and create his own. Ridge fights to preserve the current society, while Metonym fights to make it better in his own way. They both fight for the betterment of their race, just in different ways.
4. PLAN
Ridge and his government allies plan an attack on Metonym’s base back in the mines on Ridge’s planet, but it of course doesn’t go as planed and leads to a tough battle and even tougher truths that are revealed.
5. BATTLE
The final battle will involve the main three characters, all fighting for their own versions of what society should be.
6. SELF -REVELATION
Ridge realizes that his physical power is nothing compared to his skills as a planner and a leader, and that using his anger for revenge blocked his abilities as a thoughtful leader, along with his ability to see things more clearly and work better with others.
7. NEW EQUILIBRIUM
Ridge secures the survival of his race, and the creation of a new governmental structure, which he will take a large roll in leading. He didn’t plan on that initially, but in the end it was the right thing to do.
